For the first time in the Southern hemisphere, Alpine Heli Ski Ltd offers the Heliski Guides Course.

Endless peaks with deep powder bowls, glaciers and steep chutes combined with challenging weather and avalanche conditions make New Zealand’s rugged Southern Alps the ultimate training ground.

Over a period of 15 days your professional instructors will teach you all aspects of Heliski guiding and provide you with a strong base to further your opportunities with Heliski operations, Cat skiing operations or as Backcountry ski guides.

Guides trained in NZ have a reputation internationally as highly skilled professionals. Many NZ trained guides hold key positions in heliski operations around the world including Canada, Russia, Greenland, and the Himalayas.

At Alpine Heli Ski Ltd we are always looking for talented guides. Trainee guides that excel on the course will be offered positions during the season.

The Coronet Peak Instructor Training Program (CPIT) is committed to providing New Zealand’s highest quality training program for aspiring ski and snowboard instructors. We utilize New Zealand’s most experienced and qualified snowsports trainers who have successfully trained and exported professional ski and snowboard instructors around the world.

For 2010 we have three course options. The programs are designed to maximize your time with us whilst keeping affordability in mind. Training is conducted on the slopes of world class resorts Coronet Peak and The Remarkables. You will receive intensive training on and off the mountain focusing on teaching progressions and your personal skiing/riding skills.

You’ll have the opportunity to gain internationally recognized New Zealand Snowsports Instructors Alliance (NZSIA) qualifications which will open the door to a career traveling most of the world working in the mountains. So whether you’re looking for a change in career or just want improve your skiing/riding skills, the Coronet Peak Instructor Training Program will help you realize your goals, and you'll have loads of fun doing it.
